Cubicles Direct Joins Facility Cycle to promote the Reuse and Recycling of Office Furniture

In an effort to increase expand its green initiative Cubicles Direct has joined Facility Cycle, a free online community resource for business owners, facility managers, non-profits and commercial real estate professionals who want to change the way businesses dispose of their used furniture.

FacilityCycle.com helps to business:

• Sell or trade their used office furniture to other businesses
• Recycle used office furniture with local recyclers
• Donate to charities or startups

Promoting the Reuse and Recycling of Office Furniture

Waste from facilities contributes more than 8 million tons of waste to landfills. The Office Furniture Recyclers Forum (OFRF) reports that “Remanufacturing just 40 workstations diverts one tractor-trailer load of furniture from a landfill.” Industry experts estimate that for every workstation that is recycled, an average of 850 pounds is diverted from a landfill.
